افتراضي SEAT Sport restructures its activities

SEAT Sport is planning to focus its 2011 activities on customer sports at different national and international championships and on personalizing SEAT models using a range of custom designed accessories.

Neither the SEAT León Supercopa nor the SEAT León Eurocup will be organized next year in Spain. The aims of both competitions have been accomplished and have been highly successful in terms of driver participation and promotion. Three fine examples of the success of SEAT’s sports strategy are Supercopa drivers Freddy Barth and Norbert Michelisz, who have both won world-class races, and more recently Josep Oriola, who started out in the Supercopa and will be the youngest driver ever to compete at the WTCC in 2011.

This year signals a turning point in the Spanish brand’s strategy and SEAT Sport will continue with its 2010 orientation consisting in lending full technical support and supplying parts to all drivers who rely on the company to compete with the SEAT León Supercopa and SEAT León S2000, at national races such as the CER Spanish Endurance Cup and at international meets such as the European Production Series. Further support goes to private teams registered for the World Touring Car Championship, and the ongoing French and German editions of the Supercopa which will be held next year. SEAT Sport will be behind the León Supercopa in championships celebrated in Spain, the UK, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and the Czech Republic, and with the León S2000 in Belgium, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and the Dominican Republic.

SEAT Sport director Jaime Puig said “We will maintain a high profile at national and international motorsports events, closely collaborating with all SEAT customers who participate at different championships, from track racing to endurance, and with SEAT importers who organize Supercopa races in Germany and France. In addition, we are widening our range of activities. We will continue to design accessories, which from now on will be assembled and installed directly in the SEAT Sport facilities, guaranteeing our customers the highest levels of quality. 2011 is definitely going to be a busy year for SEAT Sport.”
