Eventually, you've got to show us what you've got. Paul Alcock, project manager of the XF, said "the most significant change in 2012" is the addition of the 2.2-liter diesel to that line, and the engine is joined by tech like Intelligent Stop/Start, an eight-speed ZF transmission with drive-disconnect, and aero improvements honed by computational fluid dynamics. We'll truly know how they perform when we can live with them in our driveways, but the initial report is promising they deliver on the kinds of supplemental, foreground technologies we have been waiting for from the kind of company that could introduce the first aluminum monocoque bodyshell (a different concept than the Audi Space Frame from 1997) and first dual-view screen.
