In 2007 Citroën unveiled the compact C-Cactus concept at the Frankfurt International Motor Show
Now a picture showing a very similar-looking production version of the car has been leaked. The image was extracted from a video presentation which was shown to Citroën dealers and employees. Although unconfirmed, the image is clearly labled as Citroen DS3. The DS name is returning to the fore as an upmarket line of new vehicles that will help Citroën take a step up towards the higher luxury plane.
At 4.2 metres in length the C-Cactus would be too long to be a C2 replacement but it was exactly the same length as a C4. Incidentally the C4 is due for a replacement in 2010.
Hopefully more information will come to light at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Meanwhile a quick recap on the C-Cactus may be in order. The car shown in Frankfurt featured a 70hp (51kW) 1.4 HDi diesel-electric drivetrain.
