AMG teams up with Ducat

Mercedes-AMG GmbH has announced plans to work with legendary Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati.

Based in Bologna, Ducati have a proud racing heritage and are known for their iconic, high-performance models such as the Monster and new Diavel. So they’re a perfect match for AMG-Mercedes GmbH – creators of the sensational SLS AMG supercar.

“AMG and Ducati ideally complement each other, as both companies share the same values: racing as the driving passion, and high performance plus exclusivity as the central brand messages,” said Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Initially, the two brands will collaborate on marketing and sponsorship activities – for example, AMG will support the Ducati MotoGP team as an Official Car Partner from 2011. Likewise, visitors to selected AMG events will be able to see, touch and test drive Ducati motorcycles – and vice versa.

But further down the line? Who knows where an alliance between two such legendary brands could lead? Exciting times ahead for Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
