Audi Releases Sketches of Q3 Crossover

Audi’s presence in the crossover market has been two-pronged: the large, three-row crossover market is covered with the Q7 and the recently introduced smaller Q5 has taken the lower end. The Q5 has been a big success in the United States and around the globe, helping to fuel record sales

In 2007, Audi showed off a concept preview at the Shanghai Auto Show of the Q3 that would slot in below it

Now, a few years later Audi is using the same show to debut the production version of that car. We don’t get to see it in its entirety yet though. For now, Audi has released these sketches and they show a curvy and design-focused little crossover. It sounds the same themes as every Audi of late, and follows closely to the concept. And from all indications, that means it looks to be another hit for Audi that should help fuel global growth further. The Q3 shares underpinnings with Volkswagen’s Tiguan

Something that is interesting though is that the car currently isn’t slated to be sold in the U.S. It seems like it would be a natural market for the car to occupy, but apparently Audi doesn’t agree at this stage. However, something tells us the Q3 will make it to our shores sooner or later. Stay tuned for the full reveal
