TheElmscan and master(OBD-II pack) has everything you will need to connect your car to your PC, interrogate the cars ECU which will allow you to see and read live engine data and even reset the engine fault codes.
Learning the software is very easy with a simplistic User Interface. The software does have some system requirements;
The System requirements for a Windows PC;
- 486DX 25Mhz Processor or higher
- 4Mb RAM
- Windows 95 or higher (works on Win98/NT/2000/Me/XP)
- 640x480 display with DirectX 7
- USB Serial port
The software allows the user to perform the following actions:
- Read diagnostic trouble codes, both generic and manufacturer-specific, and display their meaning (over 3000 generic code definitions in the database).
- Clear trouble codes and turn off the MIL ("Check Engine" light)
- Display current sensor data, including:
- Engine RPM
- Calculated Load Value
- Coolant Temperature
- Fuel System Status
- Vehicle Speed
- Short Term Fuel Trim
- Long Term Fuel Trim
- Intake Manifold Pressure
- Timing Advance
- Intake Air Temperature
- Air Flow Rate
- Absolute Throttle Position
