The cars manufactured by Acura are made stylish and have good performance. The 2011, Acura RDX is a luxury compact SUV. It is an upscale car and has a luxury tag but doesn’t have a luxury price. Other luxury compact SUVs have high prices with high-tech features but this Acura RDX 2011, has lesser price than those but has a number of high-tech features.
PERFORMANCE:
The Acura RDX gives a good driving experience and it can be called a perfect car for in-town driving. The RDX comes with a turbo-charged 2.3liter DOHC,i-VTEC, four-cylinder engine. It has 240 horsepower. We asked most of the test drivers about the performamce of the engine. Most of them commented that the engine is powerful enough and some complained about the turbo to be a bit slow. According to Acura this RDX has in-built Variable Flow Turbo Technology which makes the turbo efficient enough. This Acura RDX gives an experience of the all-wheel drive which achieves a slightly improved Fuel economy.
EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR:
Most of the reviewers don’t really admire the looks of the Acura RDX, and i am also of the same thought. It has a large grille which gives the viewers an odd feeling. This large grille of the Acura cars is mostly disliked all over the globe. The headlights in front and the bumper give it a burly look. The rear has been modified a bit from its earlier models but the changes made are very few. The exhaust pipes are changed into hexagonal shape and the license plate is somewhat smaller than the earlier models.
The seats of the Acura RDX 2011, are very comfortable because while waiting in the parking lot I fell asleep. The cabin has a welcoming style. It is a mixture of different textures and shapes. It has hard plastic surfaces which give a very strange look to the interior of the RDX. It has a power moon roof on top and navigation screen in the middle of the dashboard. It has a rear view camera. The RDX cargo area has a lot of space and if the second row of seats is folded it makes much more space for your luggage.
SAFETY FEATURES:
The federal government awarded a full five stars for all seating positions and side crash tests to 2010, Acura RDX. The 2011, Acura RDX is a replica of its earlier model with reference to the safety features. The 2010, RDX got four-stars in rollover rating. It means that it has got the least chance of rollover in single vehicle crash. The 2011, RDX has also received top scores of rear crash protection tests taken by the insurance industry.
The safety features of the Acura RDX includes an Vehicle Stability Assist, Two front airbags, Two-front side airbags, two side curtain airbags. It has also got rearview camera for looking at the back and High-Intensity Discharge headlights. It has an anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist. It has a solid body structures to overcome accidents.
