![]() ![]() Imthishan Giado 26 January 2011 It's been what, ten minutes since the last special edition 911? Time to raise the alert level at Stuttgart, which immediately responded with this new 911 Black Edition. Which Is a 911. In black. ![]() To be fair, it's not quite the cash grab it seems on paper. There will only be 1911 of these cars made, equipped as standard with the 345bhp version of Porsche's famous flat six and either manual or PDK dual-clutch transmissions. Paint options aren't limited as you think - there's the standard black or a special metallic Basalt black options. Apart from the colour, you also get the Turbo II forged alloys. ![]() Inside, there's plenty to remind you're in a super-special 911, with 'Black Edition' badging on the kick-plate and a badge on the glovebox with the serial number. The instrument cluster is of course, in black. Equipment is generous, with a 11-speaker Bose sound system, navigation, a Sport Design steering wheel, aluminium gear lever and other shiny bits of brightwork. ![]() The first Boxster S Black Edition models will arrive in the region in May 2011; orders can be placed already now at the nearest Porsche Centre. The basic retail price in the GCC markets is $60,614; less than a standard Boxster S with similar optional equipment. ![]() |
