Talon Motors Invader Coming to SEMA Show

The SEMA show is gearing up for next week, with this year’s dates running from Tuesday, November 2nd to Friday, November 5th

Every year, aftermarket manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) alike appear at the show in Las Vegas to introduce their custom creations

The big automakers finance special creations and aftermarket companies introduce their wares as well. Sometimes the show is the site of new reveals too, as is the case with the Talon Motors Invader

The Invader definitely qualifies as a unique creation. It aims to blend the two worlds of a supercar and a super bike, working to offer the thrills of both without the drawbacks. For one, it allows two occupants to sit side-by-side in an enclosed cockpit, while still providing an open-air feeling

The Invader’s body is made out of fiberglass, with a frame constructed using tubular steel one-and-a-half-inch thick. For safety there is also a complete roll-cage, side protection bars and a front crash zone. Trying getting that in a motorcycle


Tom Sliger, Talon Motors vice president and creator of the Invader, says “The Invader really offers its owner the best of two worlds….it delivers the power and road hugging closeness and thrills of a super bike, but allows its two occupants to sit side-by-side in the safety and comfort of an enclosed cockpit. It has a steering wheel and pedals just like a sports car, but it offers a totally unique driving experience that is unlike anything on the road

We’re be inclined to agree. The Invader offers supercar-like acceleration without (hopefully anyway) a supercar-like price. Weighing only 1040 pounds, 0-60 time is achieved in just 3.92 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 144 mph. This is achieved using a 1340 cc Hayabusa engine making 197 horsepower. Handling also promises to be incredible, with a road-grabbing three wheel layout. The two front wheels steer the Invader, while power is delivered to the huge rear wheel

No word yet on pricing for the Invader, but expect to hear more about it leading up to its debut in Las Vegas. And don’t call it a motorcycle – or a car either. Talon Motors has given it a special name: High Performance Reverse Trike, or HPRT
