Here's one of the rotary spherical valves(intake). It appears that with these designs, excessive flow restrictions would be a concern. I wonder how the convention exhaust header designs would compare.

great as poppet valve engines...all the other plus's factor in to make a great -long lived/efficient/clean burning cruiser engine.
