Toyota promotes Star Safety System with new ad campaign [w/video]

Some of us might have become a bit cynical about "the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/toyota/">Toyota</a> safety story," but in fact there is one, and it was such a big deal that it helped get the Japanese carmaker to the top slot not long ago. As part of the rectification of <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/toyota+recall">recent events</a>, Toyota is taking that safety story back to the front lines in an ad campaign touting its new Star Safety System: five driver aids that now come standard on all Toyotas including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. <br />

Toyota claims to be the first full-line manufacturer to offer these systems on all of its cars, and it will be adding a brake-override system to its entire range by the end of the year. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/10/toyota-goes-on-the-offensive-about-safety-with-new-campaign-w-v/">Follow the jump</a> to check out the press release and two of the commercials and see if you don't feel safer for doing so.<br />
