He won't admit it, but Editor Paukert is fully addicted to joining us on the Podcast. He sat in again with Chris, Sam and Dan for Episode #162 of the Autoblog Podcast, and there was much rejoicing. First up, Ed Whitacre's somewhat inscrutable claims about the Chevrolet Volt's pricing and profitability. Staying with talk of prices, we move on to mooted pricing figures for the 2011 Ford Mustang. Staying in Dearborn, we touch on the likelihood that a version of the Ford F-150 will replace the severely aged Ford Ranger. Adding some spice, we head to the Mediterranean to discuss Ferrari 458 Italia pricing, and stay on the Continent to consider Bugatti Veyron operating costs. Updates round it out, with the updated-for-2011 BMW 3 Series and SMax/Galaxy tweaks bookending some talk of the just-unveiled 2011 Shelby GT350. We wrap it all up with some of your questions and tie a bow on it at an hour-and-a-half. See you next week!

Bimmerfile has snagged shots of the M Sport package available on the 2011 BMW 3 Series coupe and convertible, and similar to the recent refresh, the changes are subtle, but even more effective. The lines on the front bumper follow the same form as on the current M Sport package, but are notably sharper, and the lower opening appears slightly larger. Out back, the current vehicle's single exhaust pipe at each corner gets switched to a dual pipe on the left side, and a new wheel design is fitted at each corner. Inside will be the usual M-badged steering wheel and shifter, along with an anthracite headliner. All the details are due to be revealed soon, likely at the Geneva Motor Show.
More Bimmer leakage: 2011 BMW 335is images outted

<sma ll>2011 BMW 335is - Click above for image gallery

Coinciding with an earlier report, the first images of the 2011 BMW 335is have leaked out, and if history is any indication, we should have all the official details within a few days.

Available in both coupe and cabrio form, the 335is - designed to slot in above the recently revised 335i and below the V8-powered M3 - will reportedly be equipped with the last 335i's twin-turbocharged inline-six (N54), putting out an estimated 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, with an overboost function increasing the twist to 369 lb-ft for short durations. Predictably, the 0-60 time will drop to around five seconds and the top speed will increase to 149 mph.

A six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox are expected to be part of the package, along with an M-Sport Appearance package, blacked-out grille, darkened mirrors and a mildly revised suspension. Expect all the information to be revealed soon and plan to see the 335is, along with the rest of the revised 3 series line, in person at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
Rolls-Royce announces Torsten Mueller as new CEO
Back on July 1st of 2008, Tom Purves became Rolls-Royce's new CEO. At the time, we remarked that the move was interesting due to parent company BMW's mandatory retirement age of 60, which Purves was just about to turn when he got the top spot at R-R. Not surprisingly, then, the automaker has announced a new commander-in-chief, Torsten Mueller.

Mueller is a longtime member of the BMW Group's senior management, having worked for the German automaker for the last 20 years. Most recently, Mueller had been running BMW global product management, though his most significant contribution to the company may be his role in helping the revived Mini brand get off the ground back in 2000.

Mueller will assume the role of Rolls-Royce CEO at the end of March 2010, which is also the time when Tom Purves will retire after 25 years service with the BMW Group.

2010 F1 grid nears the finish line as Sauber signs McLaren veteran Pedro de la Rosa
With the countdown winding down until the 2010 Formula One season's opening round in Bahrain, the roster of drivers competing for top honors is drawing near completion with the announcement that the Sauber team has signed Pedro de la Rosa as its second race driver.

The Spanish driver started in F1 as a test driver for Jordan in 1998, driving for Arrows and Jaguar before going to McLaren, with whom he stayed as a test driver from 2003 through 2009, filling in for Juan Pablo Montoya in 2005 and 2006. With McLaren now divorced from Mercedes and Sauber from arch-rival BMW, de la Rosa will return to the grid alongside Japanese hot shoe Kamui Kobayashi for the upcoming season.

Following the Sauber announcement, only four seats remain unconfirmed: two at USF1, one at Campos (alongside Bruno Senna) and one at Renault (alongside Robert Kubica). Follow the jump for the press release from Sauber and a standing roster of who'll be driving for which teams this season.
