I would recommend the Elantra If u really put it in ur account, it may not be a Japanese car, but it has a much more powerful engine 1600CC, which make it much more closer to ur criteria of prefering a stronger engine for long distances traveling, however its welknown as an economical fuel consumtion car comparing to many vehicles in the same category, and has a not bad dealer, with a good reputation in the Egyptian market, but unfotunately I believe they market it in Egypt without ABS or airbags,
