The package allows buyers to purchase many of the "M-Technik" (aka Motorsport) go-fast hardware and cosmetics commonly found on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/11/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m3-mt6/">BMW M3</a> and <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/16/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-bmw-m5/">BMW M5</a> in a factory package (sans the screaming V8 or V10 and the upgraded brakes, of course). While the "ZMP" package varies from model to model, it generally includes sport-tuned suspension, upgraded wheels, sport steering wheel, sport gearshift lever, anthracite headliner, aggressive sport bodywork, and several strategically-placed "M" badges. First Drive: 2009 BMW 750Li

<br /> When the 2009 BMW 7 series was unveiled at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/Paris-Motor-Show/">Paris Motor Show</a> last fall, BMW's fifth-generation flagship had an anvil-sized burden to bear. Although the last 7 series was a milestone in the sales department, its design - which foisted Chris Bangle's influence onto an unsuspecting public - was all but universally panned when it was introduced in 2001. And if the exterior wasn't offensive enough (to some), BMW's newly-implemented iDrive system sent many reviewers and owners into unmitigated bouts of rage.<br /><br />For 2009, BMW has sought to address the fourth generation's foibles while capitalizing on its strengths. And while nothing is more subjective than styling, control interfaces have a huge impact on the overall experience. Find out if BMW has succeeded on both fronts after the break.<br /><br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><s trong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/">First Drive: 2009 BMW 750Li</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/1379788/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/2009-bmw-750li-1280-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/1379761/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/2009-bmw-750li-1280-07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/1379768/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/2009-bmw-750li-1280-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/1379757/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/2009-bmw-750li-1280-13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/1379758/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/2009-bmw-750li-1280-08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><em><strong>Photos Copyright (C)2009 Sam Abuelsamid / Weblogs, Inc.</strong></em><em><strong></strong></em><p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/23/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>First Drive: 2009 BMW 750Li</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;backgr ound:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/23/first-drive-2009-bmw-750li/">First Drive: 2009 BMW 750Li</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblo g</a> on Mon, 23 Feb 2009 11:58:00 EST. <br />New England's mercurial weather places demands on vehicles and drivers that other regions often don't get to enjoy. To help guide residents of the northern hinterlands, the New England Motor Press Association recently gathered its regional autowriters together to choose this year's Official Winter Vehicle of New England. Autoblog attended and did our part by casting ballots for the various categories, and the results have been tallied. Toyota's new Venza is this year's overall winner, supplanting last year's champ, the Volvo XC70. Fierce competition in other categories led to a couple of ties. <em><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/">Check out the gallery for all the winners.<br /></a><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><s trong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/">NEMPA Winter Vehicle award winners</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/1388307/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/winter_car_venza_1280_thu mbnail.jpg" alt="Toyota Venza" title="Toyota Venza" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/1388294/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/winter_car_5er_thumbnail. jpg" alt="BMW 5-Series" title="BMW 5-Series" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/1388896/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/winter_car_impreza_sport_ thumbnail.jpg" alt="Subaru Impreza" title="Subaru Impreza" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/1388396/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/winter_car_s5_thumbnail.j pg" alt="Audi A5" title="Audi A5" /></a><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/photos/nempa-winter-vehicle-award-winners/1388296/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/winter_car_borrego_thumbn ail.jpg" alt="Kia Borrego" title="Kia Borrego" /></a></div></em><p style="padding:5px;backgr ound:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/26/toyota-venza-named-official-winter-vehicle-of-new-england/">Toyota Venza named Official Winter Vehicle of New England</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblo g</a> on Thu, 26 Feb 2009 17:28:00 EST. <br />The 2009 BMW Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo will join the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/05/geneva-preview-more-details-on-bmw-alpina-b6-gt3/">B6 GT3</a> race car on the stand in Geneva, and thanks to AutoZeitung, we've got a singular photo and some preliminary specs on the uber-sedan from Alpina.<br /><br />The B7 Bi-Turbo is essentially the M7 BMW forgot to build, packing a twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8 putting out 507 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Alpina claims the B7 can run to 60 in 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically-limited 173 mph. We'll have more details from the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/GenevaMotorShow/">Geneva Motor Show</a> next week, but expect a host of upgrades to join the engine mods, including uprated brakes, suspension components and a reworked interior to compliment the B7's new body kit.<br /><br />[Source: <a href="http://www.autozeitung.de/die-staerksten-genf-neuheiten">AutoZeitung</a>]<p style="padding:5px;backgr ound:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/27/geneva-leakage-2009-bmw-alpina-b7-bi-turbo-sneaks-out/">Geneva Leakage: 2009 BMW Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo sneaks out</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.autoblog.com">Autoblo g</a> on Fri, 27 Feb 2009 15:58:00 EST.
