Audi Prices A7 Sportback at $59,250

While the Mercedes-Benz CLS has spawned a lot of copycats (Hyundai Sonata and Volkswagen Passat CC, we’re looking at you), it has yet to see a direct competitor – until now

Audi introduced the A7 Sportback to go after the high-profit, image conscious segment Mercedes created with the CLS – four-door coupes. The A7 Sportback looks to compete very well on that level, offering a low-slung shape and rakish roofline

Positioning for the A7, like the CLS, comes just under the flagship full-size cars for each respective company. Pricing for the A7 checks in at $59,250. That is above the A6′s $52,300 asking price and the A8′s $78,050 starting figure

While a V-8 and S (maybe even RS) sport models are set to arrive later, the A7 Sportback will be launching with one lone engine, a 310 horsepower 3.0-liter TFSI V-6

Spring for pricey packages and standalone options and the A7′s price can go up quickly – up to $80,000 + if you load up on every option. For $62,810 Premium Plus adds Audi Connect and a navigation system

The top-line Prestige costs $66,580, still leaving a good amount of room between it and the top-line A8. You can price your own A7 Sportback out on Audi’s new configurator for the car. The A7 Sportback will be going on sale at Audi dealerships in the United States later this month
