![]() ![]() A new open air Spyder version of the Audi R8 will be limited to 66 models in the UK, and a total of 333 across the world, customers can now official register the interest online. Orders beings late summer 2011 for delivery early 2012. The Audi R8 V10 Spyder accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 197mph. The long stroke engine produces 540Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm with a peak power of 560PS. An R tronic sequential manual transmission allows for gear shifts within one tenth of a second, with Normal, Sport and 'manual' modes. Exterior design features include additional contrasting titanium grey trim elements, a dual lip front splitter, flics at the side of the front bumper, red GT badges, and enlarged diffuser and dark LED tail lights in a clear-glass design. An optional windscreen frame in matte glass fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) is also available. The lightweight fabric soft top is electrohydraulic driven, and can raise or lower in 19 seconds at a maximum speed of 31mph. powered retractable glass rear window nestles in the bulkhead, separate from the soft top. A rollover protection system which comprising two pre-tensioned plates is also incorporated in the bulkhead. The Audi R8 Spyder's black finished interior is available with the option of either titanium grey or crimson red trim. The upholstery, sports steering wheel and inner windscreen rail are finished in Alcantara. Standard equipment for the Audi R8 Spyder includes LED headlights and tail lights, automatic air conditioning, DVD satellite navigation as well as driver information system complete with built-in lap timer. Bang & Olufson take care of the sound system, with Bluetooth connectivity complete with seatbelt microphone. |
