Hyundai Elantra gets in-dash navi option as mid-year change

2010 Hyundai Elantra - Click above for high-res image gallery Even though a new, more attractive Hyundai Elantra is just around the corner, the compact sedan is receiving some minor updates during its 2010 model year, including the addition of an in-dash navigation system. Adding this new feature will certainly make the aging Hyundai sedan more competitive against comparable small cars in its segment, especially when you consider that, at $18,715 (including a $720 destination charge), the Elantra is the most affordable nav-equipped car in its class. In addition to traditional mapping software, the navigation system features integrated points of interest, including shopping, dining and other entertainment. What's more, the touchscreen unit features Bluetooth connectivity, as well as an iPod/USB interface. By offering a proper in-dash placement, the Elantra's navigation package looks to be substantially more premium feeling than the aftermarket-style options found in vehicles like the Suzuki SX4. The navigation package will be available on both GLS and SE models when they start arriving at dealerships later this month. In SE grade, the nav option brings the car's MSRP up to $19,845, still making it an affordable alternative to a comparable, though more refined, Honda Civic.
