Ever since its debut in 2008, we've been lusting after the mean-faced, squat-stanced
Volkswagen Scirocco. And while there are still no plans to bring the car to the US, folks in other markets are being treated to a slightly updated version of The People's (Other) GTI.
The Scirocco formula hasn't changed - no increase in dynamism here. Engine options range from a 1.4-liter TSI turbo-four at the base end, to the 280-horsepower version of the 2.0-liter turbo used in the Scirocco R, pictured above. Instead,
Volkswagen has focused on cosmetic tweaks, with new lighting elements at the front and rear, revised interior materials, and new alloy wheel choices in 17-, 18- and 19-inch diameters, depending on model.
So yeah, all is still well in the land of the Scirocco. And while a full-on replacement is said to be in the works, this delightful refresh should be enough to keep things interesting for the time being.
