Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon Debuts At New York

OK, Caddy says it’s just a “show car” but this looks pretty production ready, and it fits in with Cadillac wanting to broaden its product range, and become a bigger player in the European market. Euros love station wagons, or estates or shooting-brakes or Avants as they refer to them across the pond. Europeans look at station wagons the way we look at SUVs: Practical cars that you can use in a variety of different ways and take the whole family on a vacation. So what does the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon have to offer

The short list read like this: V-Series performance thanks to a 556-hp (415-kW) supercharged 6.2L V-8. A six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with steering wheel shift controls. Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires

Sounds pretty good for any type of car, let alone a wagon

The fit and finish sure look like something the Euro’s would appreciate. The outside is finished in Midnight Silver, which was first seen on the Cadillac Sixteen Concept (which Caddy really should have built, if you ask me). The wheels are done up in “lustrous” Liquid Silver-finished and there’s a black chrome finish on the grille’s mesh insert. The rear fascia, upper spoiler and center high-mounted stop lamp are also unique to the show car

On the inside, the CTS-V Sport Wagon is trimmed in exclusive black leather with nifty Alcantara accents. The upper section of the instrument panel and upper door panels are covered in the same premium leather as the seats and are accented with midnight Sapele wood. Microfiber material and stitching is applied to the lower door panels, pillars, console lid, headliner and steering wheel center. The fine-grain black leather-trimmed Recaro seats with Alcantara seat inserts are divided in the center and accented with dark gray stitching, while the V-series logo is laser etched into the seatbacks. Obsidian Black accents grace the center stack, console, steering wheel and door panels

Wagon or no, sounds like Cadillac has a winner on their hands
