Nissan has problems delivering the 2011 model in the US

Nissan is still going through a very difficult situation even after few months since the events in Japan. The current problem comes from the United States. The carmaker is fighting to take the 2011 model in the hands of the American customers who are waiting for the delivery.
Nissan sent only 40 units to the States, but if it makes someone feel less bad, Honda and Toyota are in the same situation. The carmaker has the bad luck of missing the next period of sales. Normally, during the summer time the number of people interested in buying a car increases, Nissan, because of its delay will most probably miss it.
The production of the Murano was the one affected the most from the earthquake as the actual production had just started a few days before. This is the reason why the orders were not delivered. The production is a little behind schedule, but that is all. There are no other kinds of problems. This is what David P. Reuter, Nissan Americas vice president declared.
