The Vauxhall Astra GTC Prices, Figures and Specifications

The Vauxhall Astra GTC, which is based on the 2010 GTC Paris concept, is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting at £18,495.

The only features the Vauxhall Astra GTC shared with the standard Astra are door handles and roof aerial. Development for the Astra GTC, from the very start, was to deliver a driver-orientated feel to the car that performed well on UK roads.
Changes made include the front suspension, which features Vauxhall's HiPerStrut (Hi Performance Strut) which is used on thee Vauxhall Insignia VXR. The rear sees the continued use of the compound crank with a Watt's link that has been employed with the Astra Hatch and Sports Tourer.
The Vauxhall Astra GTC also sees the option of Vauxhall's FlexRide adaptive damping, which automatically changes to road surfaces and driving styles and provides the driver with three settings - Standard, Tour and Sport - which alter the car's character at the press of a button.
Four engine options are available for the Vauxhall Astra GTC - three petrol and one diesel, all of which feature six-speed transmission and Start/Stop as standard.
The 2.0 CDTi engine offers a 0-62mph time of 8.9 seconds with a top speed of 130mph, with a torque figure of 380Nm. Combined fuel consumption is 57.6mpg (with a range of up to 700 miles) with CO2 emissions of 129g/km.
The petrol option offers three engines, a 1.4T in either 120PS or 140PS units. Fuel consumption is 47.9mpg and 139g/km of CO2 emissions. Between 1850-4200rpm, maximum torque is 200Nm.
The third and most powerful petrol engine option is the 1.6 litre Turbo, producing 1880PS and a top speed of 132mph.
Standard equipment for the entry level Vauxhall Astra GTC includes 18inch alloy wheels, DAB stereo with USB. The top-spec SRi model adds standard tinted glass, onboard computer, leather-trimmed steering wheel and fog lamps. Optional across the range are Bi-Xenon Advanced Forward Lighting.
