Subaru introduces WRX Club Spec 10 for Australia

There are more iterations of the <a href="http://autoblog.com/model/wrx">Subaru WRX</a> than there are wallabies in the bush. At least it feels that way to Australians. As the name suggests, the <a href="http://autoblog.com/tag/WRX+Club+Spec+10">WRX Club Spec 10</a> is the 10th special edition Rex that <a href="http://autoblog.com/make/wrx">Subaru</a> has seen fit to grace the land down unda. We don't actually get special WRX editions here in the States (<a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/23/first-drive-2010-subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-special-edition-is-the/">save one STI variant</a>), but that's okay as Subaru seems to completely redesign their hot little rally champ every 24 months. However, if we did live in the world's most scenic former British penal colony, here's what we'd get.<br />
<br />
Starting up front you'd get the lip spoiler off the <a href="http://autoblog.com/model/sti">STI</a> for enhanced aerodynamics that (supposedly) "improves stability and cornering." Then there's a "flexible" strut tower brace to improve stiffness steering. We think "flexible" is Australian for "adjustable" because there's also a "flexible" lower bar (sway bar) as well as a front end chassis brace. All of this will help reduce front end floppiness and sharpen up the already famed WRX's handling reflexes. <br />
<br />
WRX Club Spec 10 owners also get slightly wider 17-inch STI wheels, leather seats, sunroof and sat nav. This isn't the very greatest WRX kit we've ever encountered, but Subaru of Australia is limiting the total Club Spec 10 output to just 250 units. meaning that each one is assured to be collectible. How much? $49,990 Australian dollars, or just over $46,000 in our non antipodean currency. <br />

Fiat launches new Diesel edition 500C in Japan

One of the major benefits that <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/fiat">Fiat</a> brought to the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/chrysler">Chrysler</a> table is its proficiency with diesels. This, however, is something else entirely. The latest in a series of special edition 500s created in conjunction with the Italian denimware label, the 500C by Diesel follows the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/01/25/fiat-releases-revised-1-3-liter-multijet-diesel-and-new-hue/">fixed-roof versions</a> and the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/19/fiat-and-diesel-get-together-for-one-off-500c-for-aids-auction/">one-off charity-benefit convertible</a> unveiled nearly a year ago. <br />
<br />
The special retro-cab is currently launching in Japan at Fiat's own cafe before it goes on sale next month in its home market. When it does, the limited-edition 500C by Diesel will carry a price tag equivalent to about $24k, and come in one of three color combinations, including the dark indigo with tan top pictured above. The interior also gets denim-like upholstery with yellow top-stitching. Yellow brake calipers peer out from behind the 16" alloys finished in dark satin like the rest of the muted brightwork. Honda unveils EV-neo, promises Japanese sales in 2010

<a href="http://autoblog.com/make/honda">Honda</a> has announced plans to introduce its first electric scooter in its home market of Japan before the end of the year. The opening salvo in the round of electrified two wheelers will be a production version of the EV-neo Concept, which was first seen at the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/category/tokyo-motor-show/">Tokyo Motor Show</a> late last year. We wish it were the <a href="http://green.autoblog.com/2009/10/23/tokyo-2009-honda-rolls-out-the-ev-cub-we-pray-for-a-production/">electric Cub</a> instead, but sadly nobody asked for our opinion.<br />
<br />
Honda sees the EV-neo primarily as a means for delivery people to get around busy urban areas, but it will sell the vehicle to anyone for both business and personal use. A lithium ion battery of unknown capacity will be supplied by Toshiba and will reportedly allow the EV-neo a range of up to 30 kilometers (18 miles) on a flat road.<br />
<br />
A depleted battery can be fully recharged in about four hours. Performance is said to be roughly equivalent to a 50cc gas-powered scooter, so you can probably expect speeds of well under 30 miles per hour from the machine's brushless motor. There isn't much more detail as of yet, but what little there is can be found in the official press release after the break.<br />

The Japanese domestic market is home to some pretty interesting tuning styles, and we're grateful that there are plenty of cameras in The Land of the Rising Sun to catch these wonky rides in action. One such style is VIP, which mixes large, rear drive luxury vehicles with mods designed to give the vehicle more luxury, more flare and more bling. And sometimes, VIP can apparently be associated with the bizarre. <br />
<br />
One gentleman sporting a video camera and a legitimate case of disbelief couldn't help but drop an F-bomb (Seriously, NSFW) when he witnessed one of the most off-camber vehicles the world has ever seen. <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/15/video-tuned-japanese-car-is-very-off-camber/#continued">Hit the jump</a> to see the brief yet bewildering footage of four very thinly rubbered wheels trying to do the splits.
